STEP 1

- Discuss your new custom home and your expectations:
– Vision
– Time Frame
– Budget Range - Review the Vaugh Custom Homes’ custom home building process
- Evaluate your building site and discuss your home’s orientation
- Check our references by speaking with our past/or current Clients
- Visit with a Construction Lender to discuss finance options
STEP 2
SEE OUR WORK AND HIGH-LOW ESTIMATE
- View our work by visiting finished homes as well as homes under construction
- Discuss the features and finishes of your new home
- Prepare a high-low cost estimate
- Owner to complete the House Plan Design Questionnaire (if applicable)


STEP 3
PRELIMINARY PLAN CREATION AND CONSULTATION SERVICES AGREEMENT
- Sign our Preliminary Plan Creation and Consultation Services Agreement and Deposit $12,000 in order to prepare:
1 – Preliminary House Plans (floor plan, front elevation, electrical plan and site plan)
2 – Specifications Book
3 – Building Site Review
4 – Budget Estimate
5 – Allowance Schedule
6 – Tree and Topgraphical Survey
7 – Virtual Projection Floor Plan Walk Through - Begin working on your behalf and alongside the Architectural Designer during the preliminary house plan creation process
STEP 4
PRELIMINARY HOME PLANS
- Architectural Designer intake meeting held
- Interior design preview meeting with Interior Designer
- Completed Preliminary Floor Plans which include: floor plan, front elevation, electrical plan and site plan
- Initial budget estimate complete


STEP 5
BUDGET ESTIMATE PRESENTATION AND CONTRACT SIGNED
- Construction Document Package to include:
– Preliminary House Plan
– Specifications Book and Allowance Schedule
– Contract with budget estimate
– 10% Builder Deposit paid
– Green Light to finalize House Plan - Begin Interior and Exterior Selections with Interior Designer
STEP 6
HOUSE PLANS COMPLETE
- Final House Plans complete
- Finalize Interior and Exterior Selections with Interior Designer
- Construction Specifications and Allowances updated
- Final estimates complete


STEP 7
UPDATED PRICE PRESENTATION AND ADDENDUM SIGNED
- Review updated Final House Plans, Construction Specifications and Allowances
- Final Contract Price Addendum signed
- House Plans, Specification and Construction Contract submitted to Lender (if applicable)
- Plans submitted to the Home Owner’s Association/Architectural Control Committee for approval (if applicable)
- Close on Interim Construction Loan (if applicable)
STEP 8
PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING AND GROUNDBREAKING CELEBRATION
- Pre-construction meeting held to review plans, specifications and construction details
- Commence construction: Slab poured
- During construction Quality Assurance Walk throughs as well as weekly update phone calls
- 3rd Party and internal quality control inspections
- New home orientation meeting with homeowners – Move in!
